In the beginning of 1993, Vincent was being captured by terrorists, during a missionion in Liberia. This kidnap lead to a encounter with Jesus.
« While I, together with my colleagues, entered a checkpoint, our car was being held 🚗 This was normal, during that time, because there was a civil war. After we explained why we were on that road, the four of us were waiting on green light from the militaries. The answer was clear: No, way! We were fighting against, but it only got worse. Our car was being blocked and we were got stuck. Eventually we were kidnapped at the border of the woods 🌳. The natural beauty of nature contrasted our situation.“
”I’ll spare you some humiliating details, but we were threatened with our hands behind our back and a kalachnikov to our heads 🔫. Luckily, our faith was not in the hands of these men, but from God: He had another plan. After they released my friends, the trip was not yet over for me. We were driving in a car that might have driven 180 km per hour. I didn’t say anything, but praying for my life. I remembered the advice I got from a woman, that later became my wife.”
“After I was placed in a house under surveillance, I said to God that I’d serve Him, if He freed me. I was kidnapped three weeks. After my freedom, I didn’t serve God – as unreliable as I am – but after some personal issues, I kept my promise and I decided to serve God and said Jesus was my Lord an Saviour. Since then, God has been taking care of me and my family. Yes, knowing God is a privilage and loving Him is truly amazing 🤩! »
